what is jailbreak?

24 hours. No cash. How far will you get.?

Well, previous winners got all the way to New York without spending a dime! If you fancy following in their footsteps then you'll want to be taking part in this year's Jailbreak.

The idea is simple. You and a partner have 24 hours in which to get as far away from Edinburgh as possible. "Simple", I hear you cry, "we'll buy the next pair of flights to Singapore!" Ah, well, there's a small catch I'm afraid. One of the rules is you are not allowed to pay a single penny for any transport along the way. Another is that you are not allowed to get help from any friends or family. Not so simple anymore? Never fear though, in recent years participants have got anywhere between 80 to 3080 miles away.

The next Jailbreak will be taking place on 14th-15th March 2008 (the weekend before the end of second term) so there's no reason not to get involved! There is a minimum sponsorship deposit of just £10 per person. If you raise over £50 yould get your £10 back. This £10 will cover the cost of your Jailbreak T-Shirt and any other items we can get our hands on. Any extra money you raise will go to a charity YOU choose.

So, if you're the kind of person who...

a) likes a challenge...
b) loves to travel...
c) is sick of essays and soggy Edinburgh...
d) wants to raise some money for your favorite charity...
e) all of the above...
