23.04.2007 - raise money for esca... by searching the web!

ESCA would like to say a big thank you to Highland Spring for agreeing to supply all the water needed for the Comic Relief Meadows Half Marathon to be held in the Meadows on Saturday 17th March 2007. With events like this, the lower the costs, the more money we can donate to charity, so the generosity of Highland Spring will make a huge difference to our efforts on behalf of Comic Relief.

It's that time of year again when students start to plan their escape from Edinburgh for the Easter vacation. Why not be a bit more intrepid. How far away from Edinburgh do you think you could get with no money and no help from friends or family? Previous teams have made it as far as New York for free. We have a range of events to suit everyone, whether you fancy a bit of Fame Academy style Karaoke at the Snatch Social, or leaping from a 300ft crane with our Charity Bungee Jump. Due to popular demand we are now bringing you three Fun Run events that everyone can get involved in! All are being held on the Edinburgh Meadows on Saturday 17th March 2007. You can either do just one lap of the meadows (2.5km), or if you want a challenge, 3 laps (7km). For any athletes out there, there's also a full half marathon! Anyone can get round one lap for Comic Relief!

Snatch is back, and this time we want to hear you sing! The Liquid Room will be hosting our Comic Relief Karaoke Snatch. Free entry if you come dressed as your favourite musical act. With Karaoke, pinata's and great drinks prices, it's going to be a good one.

Bungee Jump registration forms and information is now available to download (click here). If you have ever fancied throwing yourself off a 300ft high crane whilst attached to a huge rubber band, this could be the charity event for you!

This March sees the return of Comic Reliefs' flagship event, Red Nose Day (this year titled 'The Big One'). Plans are in place for a wide range of fundraising events including a half marathon on The Meadows and a charity bungee jump.

ESCA will soon be launching its Easter Shoebox Appeal. The appeal collects toys and clothes for disadvantaged children in Romania. The appeal will start accepting donations on Monday 19th February 2007.
