about us - what we do
ESCA’s role is to support all students who want to raise money for charity.
You may already be a volunteer for a local group who need to raise some funds, or a member of a charitable society which wants to buy a new minibus. You may even be a member of a non charitable student society which wants to run a charity event. Whoever you are and whatever you want to do, ESCA can help you raise money for charity!
There are several ways in which ESCA supports student fundraisers in Edinburgh. We run a variety of events throughout the year, including parachute jumps and our annual hitch events, where any student can take part and raise money for the charity of their choice.
If you are already a member of a society, and have an idea of the type of events you want to run, we can help you set up and run you event, advise you on all those legal issues and help you advertise your event to the rest of the volunteering community.
If you are not sure what you want to do, or even which charity you would like to support, we can also help you out. We have information on a wide range of charitable events, and advice on how to run them, as well as an extensive library of information on many local, national and international charities that you can support.
Lastly, ESCA aims to help different groups of student fundraisers co-ordinate, and even co-operate on their fundraising efforts, and runs regular meetings for anyone who wants to volunteer to fundraise.
Charity fundraising can be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding ways to volunteer whilst at university. You can give as much or as little time as you have, and still make a huge difference to the lives of many, and even facilitate other student’s voluntary activities.
If you are interested in any aspect of charitable fundraising, and want to find out more come and see us in Potterrow to find out how we can help you.
