With hundreds of students each year taking part in a wide variety of activities and events to raise funds for all manner of causes and charities, Edinburgh is one of the UK’s most successful student based charitable citys. With your help and involvement, this situation can only improve!

students raise over £13,000 for red cross china earthquake appeal

A group of Chinese students from accross Edinburgh have raised in excess of £13,000 for the British Red Cross China Earthquake Appeal.

They ran a number of collections, around Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt Universities, on the streets of Edinburgh City Centre and at COSTCO. Many thanks to all those who helped or made a donation.

At least sixty five thousand people were killed and many more injured by the devastating earthquake that struck south west China on 12th May 2008.

great north run

On 5th October 2008, Tom French and Laura Jayne Baker will attempt to complete the BUPA Great North Run (a half marathon distance) in aid of the mental health charity MIND.
